Your MacBook notch, as a live scoreboard

Notch mode wraps the live score around your MacBook's notch: the home team's logo and score on the left, the away team on the right, and the big moments play right there. It is part of ScoresMac Pro.

Make something happen

Click the notch for the match card, or the score in the menu bar for every sport.

A moment for every sport

Each sport gets its own moment at the notch, drawn in the same style as the match card:

  • A ball rolls in for GOAL!, with the scorer
  • A cricket ball flies in for WICKET!, then 100 UP and 200 UP
  • A football spins in for TOUCHDOWN! and FIELD GOAL
  • A puck slides in for an ice hockey goal
  • A chequered flag waves for NEW LEADER in F1, MotoGP, IndyCar and NASCAR
  • A quick pop for every esports map or game won

Full time, with confetti

When a match ends, the notch drops down like a curtain with the winner's banner, and confetti falls inside it. Then it folds back up and the menu bar lights up in the winner's colour.

Click for the card, ignore it otherwise

Click the notch to expand it into the full match card; press ⌥⌘N to do the same from the keyboard. Hovering does nothing, so it never wakes up while you reach for the menu bar.

On a Mac without a notch, or an external display, the score shows as a small pill at the top centre of the screen.

Turning it on

Get ScoresMac Pro, then choose Notch or Both in Settings › General › Display. Both keeps the score in the menu bar as well. Pro is a one-time purchase for up to two of your Macs; the menu bar app stays free either way.

Questions

Is the notch scoreboard free?+

Notch mode is ScoresMac Pro, a one-time purchase. The menu bar app, with every sport, is free.

Can I try it before buying?+

Yes. The notch demos on scoresmac.com play the same moments as the app. In the app, right-click a match and choose Test Animations.

Does it work on a Mac without a notch?+

Yes. The score becomes a small pill at the top centre of the screen, with the same moments.

Does it get in the way of the menu bar?+

No. It only opens when you click it, and it sits in space the notch already uses.
